Needed guidance is an absolute must to negotiate the tricky intricacies of girlhood and the difficult issues that may arise. They are encouraged to examine their choices and shown how to become a change agent in their own lives. Through diverse programming and with the help of consistent, professional staff, the girls build solid skills and are allowed to grow through the appropriate milestones and to prepare for the transition to adulthood.

The Residential Program

Rasberry’s House of Hope, Inc., in Houston, Texas is a residence for teenage girls who are unable to live in their own homes due to significant and long-standing personal or family problems.

The girls live together in a warm, attractive setting where they interact with each other and supportive adults. Staffed twenty-four hours a day, the residence provides a stable and an affirming environment in which girls prepare to return to their homes or independent living.

The girls attend the local public school or an appropriate alternative school, share household chores, hold part-time jobs, participate in community service projects, socialize with friends and enjoy a variety of planned social and recreational activities.

In addition, therapy and counseling are offered to children so that reunification can be achieved, whenever possible.

The goal of this work is to help young girls create the best life possible fro themselves.

"Rasberry's House of Hope Inc., is dedicated in memory of my sister, Marilyn J. Rasberry, who lost her life in 1999, and whose inability to refrain from toxic and abusive relationships, resulted in her demise, and to my loving father, Joe Louis Rasberry Sr., who lost his battle with cancer in 2007, but while living, opened up our home and made it a safe haven to family and friends who found themselves in trouble. It still amazes me how my parents never turned anyone away. They always allowed room for others to have a soft place to fall."
