Philosophy

At the heart of Rasberry’s House of Hope, Inc., there is a belief in the inherent worth of the individual and the capacity for personal change. This belief is lived out by providing a nurturing and therapeutic environment where adolescent girls can put forth their best efforts to realize their hopes and dreams. No matter what troubles have dotted their early lives, girls are encouraged to use the group home as a place to grow toward personal responsibility and independence.

Family is the cornerstone of society and our primary focus. Our commitment is exemplified by encouragement, motivation, optimism, resilience, determination, hard work and unconditional love. We work with our girls to help them get to a place of forgiveness, not necessarily for family members who hurt them, but for themselves. We believe that though their challenges are numerous, they are not impossible to overcome.

Rasberry's House of Hope, Inc., believes that every girl has a unique contribution to make to the world. We do everything within our power to help each child heal and develop a healthy self-esteem so that she may use her God-given talent to reach the stars.

Rasberry's House of Hope, Inc., believes that unconditional love is the foundation upon which all healing begins. And these children, who have seen the worst that life has to offer, deserve the best that we can provide.

"Rasberry's House of Hope Inc., is dedicated in memory of my sister, Marilyn J. Rasberry, who lost her life in 1999, and whose inability to refrain from toxic and abusive relationships, resulted in her demise, and to my loving father, Joe Louis Rasberry Sr., who lost his battle with cancer in 2007, but while living, opened up our home and made it a safe haven to family and friends who found themselves in trouble. It still amazes me how my parents never turned anyone away. They always allowed room for others to have a soft place to fall."
